Who We Are
The team at Discover Health Group is made up of professionals who are dedicated to getting our patients back to optimal health. We offer a range of clinical interests and skills to meet the individual needs of each of our patients.

Dr Ryan Henson
Locum Chiropractor
Working at Discover in January 2026
Ryan grew up between Australia, the USA and Brazil, giving him a unique global perspective that influences his approach to health and movement. He went on to complete a Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University and has additional training in yoga and movement education.

Ryan uses a combination of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques and rehab-based exercises. He has a strong interest in how chiropractic care supports body awareness and healthy movement patterns, and he values clear communication and building strong therapeutic relationships.

Outside the clinic, Ryan enjoys travelling, staying active and continuing his own movement practice.
Dr Naomi Fleming
Chiropractor
Naomi, a lifelong Portland resident, has devoted herself to delivering chiropractic care to the local community since 1992.

She started her journey at Henty Chiropractic Centre, working alongside her mother, Helen McKenzie, who was also a chiropractor. Chiropractic seems to run in the family, as Naomi's daughter, Eloise, is now also practicing as a chiropractor on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Naomi's practice centres around muscle testing techniques, particularly applied kinesiology, enabling her to identify areas of weakness accurately. She combines manual adjusting, activator methods, blocks, and soft tissue therapy to provide comprehensive and effective treatment.

Dr Rosalie Cullum
Locum Chiropractor
Working at Discover in February & March 2026
Rosalie Cullum is an RMIT graduate who, after five years of study in Melbourne, is excited to begin the next chapter of her career by returning to southwest Victoria to locum in Portland. Growing up in Warrnambool, she has strong ties to the local region and is passionate about providing high-quality care to the community.

Her interest in chiropractic began early; at just twelve years old, she decided chiropractic was the career path she wanted to follow after experiencing firsthand the positive impacts of care.

In practice, Rosalie takes a hands-on, patient-centred approach, combining diversified, manual, and activator adjustments with a variety of soft-tissue techniques and rehabilitation exercises.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys travel and seeking new experiences.
Dr Naomi Knight
Chiropractor
Naomi graduated from RMIT in 2012 with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chiropractic. She has worked across Western Australia and Regional Victoria, and now brings her experience and care back to the South West.
Naomi is also certified in Applied Kinesiology and dry needling, which she thoughtfully incorporates into treatment when it best supports her patients.

She values interdisciplinary care, clear communication, collaboration, and building strong, trusting relationships - believing these are key to successful healthcare and positive outcomes.

Outside the clinic, Naomi enjoys walking her two Lagottos, Moose and Panda, staying active with yoga and exercise, and spending time in the kitchen or getting creative with crochet and sewing.

Dr Amy Hurtz
Chiropractor
Amy is on maternity leave, returning in 2026.
Amy originally arrived at Discover Health Group in 2023 as a temporary chiropractor, but it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the Portland community. Now, she’s proud to call Portland home. Amy is passionate about empowering others to lead active, healthy lives through evidence-based care and holistic lifestyle advice. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a continual drive to learn, making her a valuable asset to our team.
Amy utilises a variety of techniques, including manual adjustments, mobilisation, activator methods, and SOT blocking, to effectively address neuro-musculoskeletal conditions and postural concerns.
Whether you’re seeking support for everyday wellness or focused care for specific health goals, Dr Amy is here to guide you.
Dr Phoebe Sharp
Chiropractor
Phoebe is mostly on maternity leave. Is currently seeing pregnant patients only, and will return more regularly in 2026.
Phoebe grew up in Portland and joined the team in 2020, bringing with her experience from clinics across Melbourne and Geelong.
She prioritises patient-centred care, and emphasises personalised treatment plans, often prescribing rehabilitative exercises and other measures to support treatment in the clinic.
With a focus on musculoskeletal conditions, mobility issues, postural concerns, and sports injuries, Phoebe also loves to support women during pregnancy and in their postpartum recovery.
Utilising a diverse range of techniques (manual adjustments, activator, soft tissue therapy, dry needling and exercise rehabilitation), Phoebe helps support patients to achieve their health goals.
Phoebe has completed post-graduate studies in:
- Sports Chiropractic (ICCSP)
- Pregnancy care
- Dry needling

Brit Carter
Naturopath
Brit is a Bachelor-qualified Naturopath who recently returned to Portland after completing her studies in Melbourne.
Passionate about helping others feel their best, she works closely with each patient to uncover the root causes of their health concerns - believing that true health is more than just the absence of disease.

As a Family Naturopath, Brit supports people of all ages from little ones with eczema to adults navigating fatigue, metabolic issues, or the natural changes of ageing. Having experienced the frustration of suboptimal health without clear answers herself, Brit brings empathy and understanding to her care. She believes nature has provided everything we need to thrive and tailors her care to suit each individual.

A familiar face to many, Brit is thrilled to be back in the community she loves, helping others find the root causes of their health concerns and help them live vibrantly.
Karlia Micallef
